Hey there, @Benny8986,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

Does this occur with a specific playlist or with all playlists in general? It's worth checking if there aren't any leftover songs in the queue from a previous listening session. You can remove them with the Clear queue button. I'd also recommend turning off Autoplay, which generates a new queue of similar song when your playlist ends so that the playback doesn't stop.

Should the behavior persist, I'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app on all affected devices - this will rule out any potential issues with corrupted cache and ensure you're running the latest version of Spotify available.

Hope this helps! Cheers 🤘

It seems like Spotify is trying to add in a new song not from the playlist here and there but instead of one or two, it’s just playing an infinite number of new songs and never my playlist. Like it started out wierd as if it was glitched, but it’s been a couple days now and I have yet to hear a song I selected on the playlist

Any thoughts?

Hello again, thanks for reaching out

i have done what you asked, turning off autoplay, which was a setting I was not aware of as a free plan user, I always assumed that Spotify forced random songs upon free listeners from time to time and I see now that might not be the case. I wish I had known this was an optional setting years ago.

Furthermore I had found a very niche solution to my problem. Due to the fact that Spotify saves the state of each playlists active song if you switch playlists and then back, or even leave the app, it makes it so that if you try to switch to another playlist and then back, it won’t acually reset the playlist. I was wondering if there was a way to force reset the playlist, to make it as if you haven’t used that playlist it ina minute and to start as if being played for the first time. The only way I have found to do this so far is to pick another playlist, set that playlist as active. Then swipe and completely close the app from background. Then power off my phone and leave it for a good 10 hours overnight and when I wake up and select my playlist it has been reset. If there’s a cleaner way then that please let me know.

Thanks for the help!

Benny
