Cannot update spotify for my iOS.5

I followed the instructions on the 'On which platform can I use Spotify' help guide question, based on a notification that Spotify would no longer be available on my platform in the coming months. I deleted Spotify from my computer and re-downloaded it twice but it gives me the same message. The user support section says to 'Manually delete these folders:

~/Library/Caches/com.spotify.Client
~/Library/Application Support/Spotify'

I cannot find these folders upon searching for them on my computer. I don't understand why a seemingly simple update is so confusing. Why can't it just allow me to download updates?

Firstly, is it the computer you are having issues on? If so, what version of Mac OS X (or other operating system) are you using?

I have a Mac IOS.5. It's saying that it will only be available for iOS.6 in a few months.

Mac OS X 10.5.x is no longer being supported by Spotify, hence why you will be seeing those messages.

There is a legacy client which won't update any further than the last working version (v0.8.5) for Mac OS X 10.5.x in this post which is your best bet for using Spotify 😉
