Search for certain artists causes Spotify app to get stuck in near-endless loading

Hi,

I'm having trouble with the most recent iPhone app version for a few weeks, probably since the update: Searching for certain artists (e.g. "Die drei Fragezeichen") and then clicking directly on the proposed and intended artist search result causes the app to fall into a minutelong loading loop before eventually showing the artist profile. During this time no search for other content will work, app feels like nearly crashing.

This is not being caused by all artist searches but seems to be related to specific names only.

I re-installed the app.
I emptied the app's chache.
I updated my iOs.
The content is not blocked (it's easy to access via Macbook and other devices).

This is happening with wifi and with mobile data.

Nothing helps. Anyone here with the same problem?

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be happy to help you get the search working in order again.

We haven't encountered anything like this recently, so this definitely warrants further investigation. Could you please provide us the following:

This is only on your iPhone, correct?
Does this only affect the search? What happens when you open the artist from somewhere else like your home page or a playlist?
Let us know as many artist names that cause this issue as possible so we can look for any kind of connection.
A video of the behaviour. Please show a few artists that do have the issue and a few that don't so we can see the difference in behaviour. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Hey,

I have the exact same issue on iPhone, iOS 18.5, latest App. Opening the artist page of "Die drei ???" will result in an endless loading screen. All further other searches will fail until the app is restarted. It does not matter how I open the artist page, search, recent search or link from an album. Please the the screen recording attached.

For context, the artist is a famous german audio book series with about 250 albums.

I have the same problem. I can’t open “Drei???” neither on my IPhone ore my IPad. I can open it on my MacBook. I have tried the same things as in the first post out, but it didn’t fixed it

This seems to have been solved in the mean-time but problem reoccured recently with „Die drei ???“ and also „TKKG“ (another popular German audio book series by the same label: Sony/Europa).

Artists „die drei ???“ cannot be searched

Hey folks,

Could you try removing any content by the affected artist from your playlists and Your Library, then re-adding it to see if that makes a difference? I'd also recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any potentially corrupted cache.

Should the issue persist, please share the exact version of Spotify you're running so we can investigate further 👍

Hey, seit einiger Zeit gibt es beim Suchen von Artists Probleme bei Spotify. Mir ist das ausschließlich bei „die Drei ???“ aufgefallen. Versucht man das Profil aufzurufen (um alle Hörspiel von den drei Fragezeichen zu sehen) läd die SpotifyApp, aber nichts passiert. Das ist sehr schade. Um die Hörspiele aufzurufen, muss ich daher immer einen Umweg gehen: entweder konkrete Alben von den Drei ??? suchen oder unter den Titeln eines Albums die Option „mehr von die Drei ??? Alle anzeigen“ wählen. Mit der Profilsuche klappt es allerdings nicht. Ich und einige meiner Freunde würden sich riesig freuen, wenn das wieder klappen würde! 🙂
