Queue items disappear visually when dragging a song (rendering issue on iOS)

My Question or Issue

When editing the Queue on iOS, all other songs temporarily disappear visually while I drag one song to a new position. While dragging the song up or down, the tracks that I move past become invisible and only the empty background remains visible. After releasing the dragged song, the other songs do not reappear immediately but with a noticeable delay. The songs are still there technically, but they are not rendered and therefore completely invisible. This makes it very difficult to manage the queue properly, especially because I use the queue frequently.

I have already tried reinstalling Spotify, clearing cache/storage, updating everything, and restarting the device. The issue persists.

Sorry to see you've been experiencing issues with your queued items. You've covered some good initial troubleshooting steps.

We can't spot any similar issues on the forum, which points in the direction that this might be something isolated to your setup. In case you have any battery optimization settings or any custom settings on your device, try disabling them to see if that would make a difference.

Another thing worth looking into is the "Reduce Motion" setting. It can be located in the settings of your iOS device when you go to Settings > Accessibility > Motion. See if toggling it off and restarting your device would help out.

Lastly, if nothing seems to fix things, try going through all the steps for a complete clean reinstall highlighted in this FAQ article.

Even after completely setting up my iPhone from scratch without a backup, the problem still exists. The only thing that reduces it a bit is setting the iPhone’s font size to small. But first, that’s too small for me, and second, the problem still persists — although only sporadically. Battery Optimization and „reduce Motion“: nothing Works.

I guess if no one else describes the problem, I can’t really expect it to be fixed from sporify right? In that case, the only option left would be to switch the streaming service.

Have you already tried logging in to your account using a different mobile device to see if the issue persists? If possible, you can also try asking a friend or a family member to log in to their own account using your phone. This can help us determine if the issue is related to the account or the device.

In case none of the above works either, make sure to send over the following:

The exact Spotify version you're currently running.
A video or a screen recording where we can see exactly what's going on. You can attach it to your next response or upload it to another platform like YouTube or Google Drive and send a link to it. Make sure to hide any personal or sensitive information, and to give it the relevant permissions if you decide to upload it somewhere else.

I am having this issue as well, and it is very frustrating. Just since updating my iPhone to iOS 26.2 (from iOS 18) a few weeks ago. I never saw this issue before updating to iOS 26. I am on the latest release of Spotify, and just tried deleting the app and reinstalling, which did not help. As a frequent user of the queue feature, this is extremely frustrating as the entire queue visually disappears as I drag a song from a lower position in the queue to higher. It happens anytime I am manually dragging a song quickly up the list. If I drag very slowly, the songs usually do not disappear.

We tried reproducing this issue on our end on iOS 26.1 and iOS 26.2 but we could not replicate the abovementioned behaviour.

With this in mind, we'd like to ask you for your full device details (model, OS version, exact Spotify app version), as well as a short video recording which showcases the issue on your ends.

Hi Vasil, the requested info is below and screen recording attached. In the video, you can see the issue occur twice in a row as I drag a song from lower in the queue toward the top. Appreciate your help with this!

Thanks for keeping in contact and for sending the info we requested!

The issue might be related with the device's display refresh rate. While you can't manually select a specific refresh rate on your mobile device, you still can cap it at a maximum of 60Hz to save battery, or to help solve some bugs/stuttering behaviors on some apps, like in this case.

If you want to try this to see if it makes any difference, follow these steps in your mobile's settings:

Open the Settings app.
Scroll down and tap on Accessibility.
Under the "Vision" section, select Motion.
Toggle on Limit Frame Rate at the bottom of the menu (this caps the display's refresh rate at 60Hz).

Also, try turning the Zoom off by going to Settings > Accessibility > Zoom. If none of that works, additional info would be helpful:

Are there any OS updates to install on your mobile device?
Since when is this happening? Did it start after an app's update or some other specific situation?
