How do I restore an IPod backup?

I was stupid enough to try syncing my IPod with Spotify. I chose to create a backup, but Spotify erased the contents without creating the backup, unless it is hidden somewhere. But how do I restore an IPod backup? It looks as if I (or I would say Spotify) managed to erase about 10GB of hard earned music! WTF!!!

I am having the same issue. I picked the option for it to back up, but I've yet to find the backup file. Did you ever find it?

Nobpdy knows the answer and I guess Spotify doesn't care about this problem...
