Syncing Files?

Hey there,
So I've followed all the steps needed to sync music onto my iPhone, and I'm not sure if this is meant to happen, but it only sync local files from my iTunes, which I already have on it, not the other songs in the playlists? Don't know whether or not that it's to do with the fact that I'm on the Free Mobile version, hopefully you guys can help!

Can you see and play your playlists on your iPhone?

You can sync your local files over to your device using Spotify free, but offline playlists of Spotify tracks is a premium feature.

Yeah, but only when I listen over wifi or 3G (which I'd prefer not to do because of the data), but not offline! I thought with the new mobile format it allows users to have two playlists for offline? Because there are sliders to make the playlistts available offline, but only allows two!
