Not exactly this way. New app works well in my app (sync, etc...) but simply cuts streaming unless you get a premium subscription.

...and what I don't see is why I have to upgrade to receive streaming in the ipad when in the rest of devices I don't.

Hi.

I have an Ipad (WiFi - NOT 3G) and I cannot receive streaming unless I upgrade to a premium service. I wonder why I receive streaming to my notebooks, pc's and mac via wifi without problems but not to my Ipad.

Regards,

Js

Yinksito - Hpguru is right, you'll need a Premium subscription if you'd like to use Spotify on your iPad, or any mobile device.

By now it's pretty clear a Premium subscription is needed, but that doesn't answer the question. Laptops, just as mobile as an iPad, don't require Premium to stream music. So why do I need to pay extra just to listen to music at home, on my couch, with my iPad?

Can't Spotify build in a check: if on Wifi -> Regular subscription, if 3G (or whatever mobile internet service) -> Premium subscription needed?

Hi Foxl,

This is a question that is coming up quite a lot these days, now that the distinction between "mobile" and "computer" is getting increasingly blurred. However, a distinction does need to be made somehow. At the moment, that distinction is based on the type of operating system the device uses, or rather the type of Spotify app that has been developed for it - desktop (Win / Mac) or mobile (iOS / Android / et al).

These distinctions will obviously need to be looked at in the future, but Spotify has to consult with musical rights holders before making changes to access rights for different subscription levels.
