i am trying to sync my ipod when i plug it in to my laptop nothing happens what am i doing wrong

Hey there, what model of iPod is it you're using?

If it's a Classic, Nano, Shuffle or Mini, you'll only be able to sync local files, but you can do that following the steps here.

If it's an iPod touch syncing happens over WiFi.

Make sure both your iPod Touch and computer are on the same WiFi network.
