I believe there used to be a legacy Spotify version for iOS4, however if I recall correctly this has been removed.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do except get a new device, or use a desktop or other device instead.

You can use the Support Form if you want to talk to customer services about anything...

You can try sending an email to support@spotify.com and see how it goes. Perhaps they have a way around to assist for your old device.
