2nd Gen Ipod Touch

Hi.

Seen plenty of posts about this, but still a little confused.

My 2nd Gen Ipod only goes to ios 4.2.1.

I have had spotify working on it, but as a free user, it is saying that you have to be a premium user to stream.

So my questions are :

When did Spotify open up streaming on mobile to free users ?

And was this linked to a certain version of spotify only ?

I can jailbrake the ipod and see if i can get a later version on there, but was wondering if this free streaming feature only came in with a certain version of the app.

If you update to iOS 6 or 7 and see the app version 1.0 and above - than you will be entitled to use the app as a free user as the old versions of the Spotify app doesn't have this free features.
