Spotify keeps freezing on iOS

The updated design looks great, but since the update it has become quite sluggish and unresponsive. Usually once the application has just started or reloaded it appears to hang, I think it's stuck making a http request to validate the session. The problem is that the whole interface freezes whilst this happens, the list of songs won't even scroll.

What's even more frustrating is that once the app freezes, if I press a song to play it and then tap again, once the application frees itself back up again the song will start to play, and then replay 5 seconds later, and then again, and again... depending on how many times I tapped the play button.

The bug with the play button also happens with skip forward and skip back, which makes it difficult to seek the correct song in the playlist since it will start to play eventually, but then skip past it 10 to 20 seconds later depending if I pressed any other buttons whilst the app was frozen.

I love this application and use it all the time in the car, but currently it's unusable and a distraction from my driving, for the first time in 3 years I'm actually using my iTunes 😞

Hopefully the next release (which has been confirmed will contain a whole heap of bugfixes) will solve the slowness/crash issues.

Just received the latest update and as you said a number of bugs have cleared up. I'm a very happy user again. I'm also loving the new "Your Music", seeing which Artists I have followed or whose music I have starred is great.

Hi, I haven't used Spotify much, but the last few days I've been trying to make some playlists with songs I like, and something similar happens. I search for a song or artist, and choose "show all songs" or whatever it's called. I click one or more songs to listen to them or add them to a playlist, but suddenly the song list freezes. I can click another search result and then go back to "show all songs", but then I have to scroll to get back to the song I wanted to add. This bug is extremely annoying. Making a playlist takes 5 times longer, and it is quite infuriating.

@wamporey This bug only affects the iPad version at the moment, it had been escalated already.

Mine keeps freezing on my iPhone I have to constantly close it and re open it to get it to stop but it still does it

Why does Spotify freezes whilst updating the new version

I have Spotify on my iPad so today I was updating in the morning and by the end of the day it freezes saying below "waiting". I tryied restarting it but it didn't work and then I logged of my App Store account so that it stopped updating but non of this worked. What can I do?
