I've just bought an Apple Airport Express for the sole purpose of streaming Spotify. I've connected the Express to my Tag McLaren AV32R via optical cable. At this moment in time I only have the free version of Spotify but intend to upgrade to premium so I can stream the higher resolution music. Whilst playing music from the Spotify app on my iPad via AirPlay to the Express and onto my stereo I randomly get horrible clicking noises through my speakers, I would estimate around 1 click every two-three minutes. Any ideas as to why this happens? More importantly what's the solution?

I have diagnosed the problem to be a faulty optical output on the AirPort Express.

Well it's great to hear that it's not a problem on Spotify's end.

Hopefully you can get your AirPort replaced.
