I have been having this same problem. It is devilishly tough to describe but I think you did well.

I'll be four or five songs into an album ( WITHOUT shuffle turned on ), and suddenly one of the previously heard songs will start playing. When I check the queue, it looks like a random smattering of the album's tracks are on there. Anybody else experienced this? I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Spotify.

So I understand the behavior of this a little bit more. It happens after the app has been interrupted somehow - by a phone call, by watching a video in another app, etc. After being interrupted, the playlist reloads with other songs from the album, so it screws the order up in all kinds of ways. Anybody got some insight into this? I've reinstalled both the phone app and Windows program.
