Ok so as the title suggests my query is simply, Why does spotify turn off?? after extended periods the program simply shuts down on my itouch. I work in a gym and i use my spotify while im on the floor taking my clients and group classes etc. im usually there for a good 10-12hrs and i find that it always shuts off at random times. sometimes it runs for my full shift but other times it doesnt. it will never last a day. every time i come to work the next day i find that the program has to be reopened and the playlist restarted. now the playlist in question is some 400hrs long so it should last longer than the less than a day it does at the moment. its not a battery issue as the itouch is still on when i get to it, its just spotify isnt running anymore.

Thanks in advance guys

Matty

Hi matiasorlando. How old is your iTouch? Is it possible that your device is no longer supported by Spotify? Along a similar vein, is it possible that the program is simply just crashing? I don't know of any feature that will result in Spotify simply shutting down. If you have a current iTouch device and it's running a compatible iOS, then I would recommend trying to uninstall/reintstall the app (directions below). If the device is outdated, then I don't believe there will be much you can do to remedy the issue. Let me know, and I can see what else I can do for you.

On the home screen, tap and hold the Spotify icon until it shakes.

Tap the X symbol on the icon.

Hold the Home and Power buttons down together until the Apple logo appears.

Open the App Store then search for and install the Spotify app.

Keep in mind that a clean reinstall will delete all data stored by Spotify, so you'll need to sync your offline music again.

Hi there - I listen to Spotify thru my app with the aux cord. We've noticed after 8-10 hours of listening, the music just stops and the app shuts down. It is very annoying! I sleep to music and wake up immediately if the house is quiet! I'll try to re-install the app and see if that works. It's hard to get an answer to simple questions on this site.

Thanks everyone for your assistance!
