Frustrated with queue and shuffle play.

I'm absolutely frustrated with Spotify. I've noticed that my Starred playlist was playing recently added songs quite frequently and many of the older added songs I would seldom hear. Well, I finally got tired of it and attempted to figure it out. I know that songs might not be available but I've always hidden those tracks. However, I have over 3000 starred songs. This could be the problem. Too many starred songs. But I'm hearing repeated tracks without starting a new shuffle. Well, yesterday I thought maybe it was the queue. I hit add to queue by accident and now it's only playing songs from my Starred. Even if I start a new shuffle or playlist. I can't figure out how to turn it off. Nothing works. I've had my account for 3 years and never had a problem until now. Is there any way to turn off the queue? Also, my app is lagging for badly since updating to iOS 9. Is this also an issue with others?
