Spotify And Chromecast problems

I'm having problems with casting spotify to both my chromecasts. I own a chromcast first generation and a chromecast audio. The spotify app (on ios iphone and ipad) does see both devices. When I try to cast to either Chromecast it tries to connect bu- t then crashes.

ios and sporify app are both the latest version. Contacted google and both chromecast have the latest firmware. Google support told me it was a spotify app problem.

I'm very dissapointed that sporify won't connect to the devices.

Questions are:

Is this a know problem?

if so, when is Spotify planning to resolve the problem

if not, what do spotify recommend me to do

Hi Koffie,

I too am having similar problems with my Chromecast although I have the 2nd gen device. Like you described it, from my iPhone or iPad I can see the device. Then when I click to connect, the spotify loading screen comes up on the TV monitor yet nothing happens. After about a minute, the Spotify instance times out and Chromecast returns to the backdrop image slidesshow. Quiet annoying... I wonder if this is similar to what you are experiencing?
