IPhone 5S BMW ConnectedDrive Proximity Sensor

Hi Spotify,

To be able to control the app properly the phone needs to be unlocked. No problem. However this keeps the screen on which drains the battery if you keep the phone in the car at all times like myself.

Audible has solved this by using the proximity sensor on the phone to turn off the screen when something is close to the sensor. Could you do the same?

Hi and welcome to the community,

I drive a BMW (3 series 2015 model) myself too and have a Iphone 5s but haven't got this issue.

However it could be that it depends on the model.

Which model are you driving and how do you connect the phone?

I use the lightning cable and plug it in the mid(arm) console.

Also I am using the BMW connected app with it and sometimes it works best when that app is started too.

I drive a 2013 mod 3 series. Phone is 5S and connected through the dock. You are a bit vague - which issue are you not seeing?

Can you lock your screen and still switch apps?

Does your phone turn off its screen when the proximity sensor is covered and spotify is in connecteddrive mode?
