Why is Spotify iOS not being updated

Spotify iOS was on a 2 week update cycle until 26-May-2016 version 5.7.0
Nothing since - does anybody know why?

Apple rejected a June update submitted to the store because it included a way for users to subscribe to premium without Spotify having to fork over a perpetual cut to Apple. My guess is there's a tiff happening behind closed doors and both parties are refusing to budge.

I had heard about this but didn't think it was still ongoing. I suspect Apple won't budge as Spotify is a competitor so it may be a long time before updates. Adobe manages to put their software on and you have to buy a CC subscription from Adobe.
My next phone may be android if this continues.

Looks like they're finally done. There was an update to Spotify this morning on the App Store!
