Scrubber bar does not work on iOS 10

When using Spotify I can't control my music with the scrubber bar on the lockscreen, I tried touching the bar several times but it does not work. However If I try Apple Music it works as intended.

This is actually an iOS restriction. It's been like this since forever probably. You can use scrubber in system apps (Music app), but you can't use it with third party apps (Spotify and any app that comes to mind really). Sorry, can't do anything about that.

I dont think this is true anymore actually. I noticed that DownCast (a third party podcasting app that I use quite frequently) now allows you to use the Scrubber bar on the lock screen (just noticed this yesterday). Would love to see this on Spotify at some point too 🙂

Wow, never seen that before for third party apps. I assume you can use that scrubber and it works freely? It must be something new, exclusive for iOS 10 then.

Yep! Here is one of me dragging it (with the dot growing as you move it). I'm pretty sure you're right though. I'm sure many audio-based apps would have had this implemented much sooner had it been available before iOS 10.
