Using too much data

Since the Spotify lunch the feature Daily Mix the data usage is getting high, and used 2 GB in only one day, but I'm not using this feature, I'm only listening the songs that there are on my iPhone. Anyone noted this?

Hi! I've been experiencing the same situation lately, today I streamed to 30min of music and spotify consumed 300mb of my data, my streaming settings are set to normal and Download using cellular is turned off.

Does anyone know why is this happening? I had to turn off data on Spotify in order to avoid being overcharged because of this.

Personally i would contact my service provider about this issue. Possibly see if they can get you a new data plan.

Possibly exit spotify from the background? I use to experience the same issue then, it may still be downloading music without your awareness.

Hi guys!

I would recommend disabling Spotify when connected to mobile data (Settings > Spotify > Mobile Data). Make sure you turn it off.

Problem remain after reinstalling, as suggested. 100 MB consumed listen only downloaded songs. I disabled cell data for Spotify again. Pics attached.

I'm having the same issue. Just got a notification that I used 7GB in 9 days (95% of which was spotify) I only listen to offline music. Reset my stats and listened to offline music for 25min to end up with 42MB of data usage.

Hi all,

It looks like this issue can be fixed by following the instructions provided here. I'm outlining the suggested steps that help fixed the issue below:

Forcing airplane mode on your device if possible will stop the connections.
Please try uninstalling Spotify, restarting your device and then installing Spotify again from the App Store.
If you are still having excessive data usage after the v0.9.3 update, please have a read at this post.

Everything is working OK now.
