topic Massive Data Usage From Spotify in iOS (iPhone, iPad)

Ive been a loyal paying Spotify user since its earliest days.

Recently Spotify has begun using massive amounts of data on my cell data service. Just this morning over a pair of 15 minute drives I was streaming music (which I've done for years and never exceeded a total of 3gig per month for everything) and lost 412meg. A few hours later I lost another 480meg and wasn't streaming though Spotify was on. I'm not using any other apps or services. I stream at the 160mbit rate. There is no possibility it was another app as the time matches exactly when I was streaming.

I use an iPhone 6 128gig with iOS 9.3.2 (13F69) and the current version of Spotify.

For clarity, being told not to stream but use the offline function as a work around is not an acceptable answer, as I often stream, searching out new artists and songs while I drive, listening to an audiophiles dream system in his old RAV4.

Something is wrong with Spotify and I'd really like to get this resolved. I've spent about $1,200 in subscriptions since I started (and its totally worth it) with Spotify and would like the kind of service such a loyal customer deserves.

I've attached an image showing the data usage.

What is causing this and how is it fixed?
