Using Spotify Connect with older Spotify iOS versions (compatible with iOS 5.1.1)

I've got an old iPad 1st generation, which can't get iOS later than 5.1.1. This means it can't get a recent version of Spotify (let alone the current version). This means it doesn't seem to have the Spotify Connect feature, as that probably wasn't introduced in this version.

I just want to control Spotify on the iPad 1st gen from my iPhone (running iOS 10). Anyone know how this could be possible?

Hey @fearofbirds,

Unfortunately, I don't think that's possible because Spotify Connect was not implemented in the last version of Spotify available for the first iPad generation and the device isn't supported by Spotify anymore: https://support.spotify.com/article/spotify-system-requirements/

Thanks for letting me know. I feel like there must be a workaround, but i'm not sure what it is.
