Local Files wont sync to iPhone

I have recently come across the issue where the songs I have as local files will no longer sync to my iPhone 6. I have synced local files multiple times in the past. I have tried the method of playing them on my computer and saving to my music on my phone and the method of creating a new playlist with the files and marking the playlist for download on my phone. Either method produces the grayed out text. The existing local files I have synced in the past still work and I was able to remove and save them.

Can you check the info over here? Also, make sure both devices are connected to the same WiFi network.

They are indeed connected to the same wifi and I have gone through the process as stated in the article to no avail.

I am also having so much trouble with this. I have local MP3 files on my laptop that will play and have downloaded on my computer but still show up as grey on my iphone when it is apparently downloading. This is driving me crazy and causing extreme stress. I just want to listen to my music that i pay so much money for.

i am having the same problem. Each time i look for advice online, they link to the above article or restate the same advice. Incredibly frustrating.
