iPhone Spotify USB connection issues

Hello. So I've been having issues with my iPhone connecting to my car via USB. I have a 2012 Ford Escape. It has no problem playing when I'm in my driveway and still connected to wifi. From there to work about an hour drive it's usually fine too. Irs only on my way home that it will not play. It kinda seems to work when it wants to. Like randomly today it worked for 10 minutes when I was on my lunch break. But normally it doesn't sync if I'm not on wifi. I have unlimited data and Bluetooth. I googled it and it seems to be a common problem but I didn't find a solution.

DO you have Spotify premium. Certain features are only available to premium members.

Thanks for your reply. I am currently on a trial of premium. I'd like to go full time but it's not worth it if it doesn't work all the time.
