Inbox Icon Missing with recent Update - Spotify Desktop App (Mac)

Since the most recent update, I can't find my inbox nor can I send anything via messages. Only option I see when I want to "share" is "Post To Followers"... Is the messaging feature returning anytime soon?? This was a great way to share music between friends and groups of friends.

Found this message from Spotify in another part of the forum:

We are currently in the process of deprecating the Inbox/Messages feature within the Spotify app.
Extensive data analysis has shown that this feature has very low engagement. The huge disparity between the use of the feature and the manpower required to maintain it doesn’t merit keeping it running, so we've taken the difficult decision to remove it

This sucks! I used this feature ALL THE TIME. And I am a like, 7 year paying customer of Spotify.

This is terrible news! I have (had) some really amazing conversations in Spotify. If I had known they were switching it off I would have backed-up some of them.

For me, I really just want to recover those old messages. Some are very special conversation I had with a loved one. I don't care about this feature being gone in the future, I just want the opportunity to re-visit these messaages and save them (by screenshots, if necessary).

What if I installed an old version of the app - would the Inbox be there? Do you think that would work?

I am really upset about this! How can I send a strong message to Spotify to help?

My guess would be that there is low user engagement because it was hard to find even when it existed. It's a great feature for people that knew to look for a new message, but I would imagine most people didn't even know it was ever there. Bring it back!!
