skip track function not working with bluetooth earbuds

I'm running the latest version of spotify with bluetooth earbuds that should control spotify remotely. Volume and pause function works fine, but I can't get spotify to skip to the next track when I double tap the play button on the earbuds as intended. Anyone out there have this problem and know of a solution?

Could be a problem with the earbuds or bad Bluetooth connection. I am using some as I type, and they work fine. (Anker SoundBuds Slim)

Hi there, I’m having the same problem. Skip track or the pause isn’t working on Anker Soundbud Slim Bluetooth headphones. The were working a week ago. Also volume and turning off/on works fine. Did anyone find a solution to this?

Try to press "volume up" button for 3 seconds to skip to next track.
