topic Lost premium in iOS (iPhone, iPad)

I had premium through my cable account (Virgin) which has now lapsed. Spotify still works fine on my MacBook - all playlists play fine online or offline, whether my own songs (uploaded years ago from cd) or songs I've downloaded from Spotify. But on my iPhone 6 Spotify will only play my own songs. Downloaded songs look like they will play but when I click on them the green SHUFFLE bar wobbles but that's it. Then I get a message saying I need Premium. Why does it say this on my iPhone and not the MacBook? My iPhone won't even play Spotify songs I search for. I have tried soft reset and clean reinstall and the wifi connection is fine.

Hey @richmwilson, Premium works slightly different between desktops and mobile devices. On desktop and tablets, you can play songs on demand as well as shuffle music, however on iPhones, you can only shuffle music. On demand playback is not an option sadly.

You can read more about the differences between Free and Premium here: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/subscription_information/spotify-free-on-your-mobile-phone/.
