iOS 11 control center

When I play music through the Spotify app I cannot control my music through the control center, I also cannot control it through the lock screen. I updated my phone to iOS 11 yesterday so I’m guessing the software just isn’t up to date. But if that isn’t the case does anyone have any suggestions?

try turning your phone off and on. it worked for me

This only works temporarily. Then it goes back to being Apple Music instead of Spotify, even if you never use Apple Music.

I’m also having this issue! What bother me the most is when I’m on my car listening via Bluetooth. I cannot pause it or controll the music in my system!

No clues about a solution for this, right? 😞

I was having the exact same problem until I turned my phone off and on. Before I couldn’t even use the volume or pause buttons from my headphones with Spotify, but now it’s working perfectly

Resetarting your phone is only a temporary fix. I've tried it and the control center eventually goes back to controlling the Apple music app instead of Spotify even if I'm listinening to music using Spotify and I have the Apple music app closed.

My guess is this is a bug in iOS 11 and not Spotify, but who knows...

I had the same issue and the bluetooth for the car wouldnt work since IOS 11 in fact my whole phone wouldnt work, i have to go to store in the end and they reset the whole phone and its been ok for a few days now and spotity working normaly on the phone and car. I only lost all my text messages on the phone, all other data went on the iclould. Just had to put all my apps back on.

Guys my issue is a bit different, have you guys noticed that after you watch YouTube control centre returns to Apple music automatically? Then I deleted Apple Music, control centre won’t automatically go back to Spotify after watch YouTube. It’s kept me from using Spotify now, anyone know how to solve this? Really just want to know is this Apples tricks or are we expecting an update from Spotify can fix this? Thanks.

Intro69, I think this is just how iOS works, but I could be wrong. Switching to YouTube will change the music controls in control center to YouTube. When you close YouTube, the control center music controls do not return back to the last app that used them. At least that’s been my experience. I wish Apple would allow you to choose your default music player, it would be Spotify all day everyday.

I’m starting to feel like this is not gonna happen lol. I’ve already start using Apple music.
