Background activity killing battery

Ios 11 is already a battery draining nightmare, so, to help remedy the situation I turned off background app refresh for all applications doing the most damage. Spotify is typically at the top of this list, doing hours of background activity, even though I turned that option to off... Why is this still happening? Sometimes in a full battery cycle I won’t even open Spotify at all, and still says I used it in foreground and hours of background activity. Please help...

Turning off the background app refresh is a great start!

When you're not using the Spotify app, it will still be running in the background however. If you double tap on the Home button on your iOS device and then swipe up to close Spotify, see if that works.

This will ensure that your app is not running in any way in the background. Let me know how you go!
