CarPlay Never Works First Time

I've grown increasely frustrated with the Spotify Carplay adaption.

1. Nearly every time Spotify will not play music until I either completely close the app on my phone and relaunch it or I play music from something else such as Apple Music or TuneIn first.

2. If I mute my car audio, spotify auto never returns back to carplay, it plays out from device.

3. Sometimes Spotify playsback music at double speed, again requiring me to relaunch the app. This issue has existed for a long time and does not affect just Carplay, but any lightning out device.

Devices and OS tested. iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone X. iOS 10.3, iOS 11, iOS 11.1, iOS 11.2 Beta.

1 & 3 - the same in my car and my iPhone 6.

2 - What do you mean that it never returns, you cannot go to CarPlay app anymore?

I'm asking because sometimes I cannot come back to CarPlay when the car exits it to show MMI parking data - warnings about obstacles nearby - very annoying.

Carplay returns. Its when I turn volume all the way down to mute, then turn it back up. Carplay is still open and thinks the music is playing but the audio ends up playing from the phones speaker.

Same double speed problem here, usually solves by reconnecting lightning cable. Annoying..
