topic iOS 11 Local Files Play as if on Fast Forward using Carplay in iOS (iPhone, iPad)

Basically the title but I use Spotify now as my soul music player on my tablet, phone, and PC. I've transfered all my music over to my Spotify library at this point on all three platforms. I have zero issues playing any of my local files or streaming music at any point, except for my phone, when using CarPlay. Streaming music works fine, local files 9/10 times (literally of the 10 times I've tried) will play as if on Fast Forward.

I'm honestly unsure what changed on the 1/10 time that my songs played normally but it's only worked that one time. I saw somewhere in these forums that it was an issue in general at times (not with CarPlay specifically) and to just let that first song play through, but that did not fix my issue. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advanced!

I believe I may have found a solution to my issue. If I instead open the app on my phone (after being plugged into the car), then choose the playlist I want to play from the car it works fine. I read another post about how it seems as if Spotify has to reinitialize when using CarPlay as Apple forces all players to use the same layout / format for consistency and thought maybe that was the root cause of the issue. Seems to be correct. So, if you're having any issues with Spotify and CarPlay, I'd recommend giving this method a try and see if it fixes your issue: 1) Plug in phone. 2) Open Spotify on your phone. 3) Select desired playlist through CarPlay 4) ??? 5) Profit
