Control Chromecast Audio Volume Control When App In Background and from Lock Screen

The only issue I have with using the Chromecast Audio from my iPhone with Spotify is that I need to have the Spotify app open in order to control the volume level. It would be great if I could control the volume of the Chromecast Audio when the Spotify app is in the background or from my lock screen. A potential solution might be to create a Spotify widget that would allow Chromecast Audio volume control even when the Spotify app is in the background or if the iPhone/iPad is locked.

Chromecast is a Google product, I can tell you that on Android this work fine.

I am a iPhone User, and I think this is iOS related, and not a Spotify problem.

Yes totally understand and you may be right in assuming that it is an iPhone limitation. However, I don't have the domain knowledge to completely understand when iPhone's system volume control settings take precedence over the volume of what's being played so I thought it might be worth while to investigate and come up with potential solutions. That's why I suggested a Spotify volume control widget that would maintain connection to the Spotify app and therefore might be able to control Chromecast Audio volume from the lock screen without having to unlock the iPhone and open the Spotify app.
