Spotify Connect volume control doesn't work

Reproduction steps:
1. Set up Raumfeld Stereo M speakers with Spotify connect
2. Start playback from the Spotify app on iOS
3. Try changing the volume via the iPhone volume buttons while in the app

Expected result:
The speaker volume is changed, and a custom volume overlay is shown

Actual result:
The phone volume is changed, and the system volume overlay is shown - most of the time. 1 in 10 times the speaker volume is changed and the custom overlay is shown.

There is no discernable pattern to when it works and when it doesn't. The Raumfeld app always changes the volume on the speakers, so this is clearly a problem in the Spotify app.

I have the same problem with Sonos.

This happens to me on my Google Home, too.

Sometimes, however, a second Google Home option will appear and connecting to this enables me to control the volume from my phone. Maybe this'll work for you too?
