Spotify Running disappeared

Opened Spotify this morning and under BROWSE > GENRES, Running is missing. When I search for running, it brings up the genre, but not as it normally does - no Spotify originals and no way to choose tempo. Help!

Help, mine is gone too!! I need this feature almost every day and this is the reason I have Spotify.

when you want this feature back again, you could post it in the ideas section and when that idea gets enough likes, it maybe gets implemented again.

Does anyone know where I can get the "Blissed Out" originals playlist? I can't find it in search...

I just found The Chase this week. I don’t even want to run now. Canceling my premium account because of this. I can’t even find “The Chase” playlist.

Why would you remove it? It is a great running aid and also exposes the runner to new music.

Its a no brainer to keep it. Please reinstate it pronto.

This is such a dissapointment. It was so useful... Has anyone found a good alternative. **bleep** shame Spotify shot themselves in the foot. And I am not going to vote on some idea thing to bring back a feature that should never have been removed in the first place. If they removed it arbitrarily once, the will just remove it arbitrarily again.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous that spotify removed this feature. I've been using this since I started using spotify at least 2-3 years ago and I use it EVERY TIME I RUN!!!! For them to just delete this takes a huge part away of why I use spotify in the first place. No other app that I use has this feature. Very poor decision on your part.

I'm floored. This was the one thing I liked about spotify actually -- I ditched two other apps that I used before to adopt this, and now it's gone. I voted (there are about 630 votes to reinstate so far). Though I doubt Spotify will rectify it, I do hope they reconsider their decision. Hope everyone will vote here -- I've seen several companies realize their mistakes and fix things.

Spotify, if you're going to retire it from the app, please at least give us access to the mixes somewhere -- we are a running community that has come to love and rely on them.

Partial Solution:

Here's what I'm going back to using -- an extensive list of 1 hour beat mixes by Podrunner arranged by BPM: http://podrunner.com/fixed-tempo.html

Steve Boyett made these over the last several years and they are what I used to run to exclusively. In fact, this is what got me started in the first place (because of the pacing and avoiding burn out).

The Podrunner app (which let you change the BPM) doesn't seem to be updating for me, but the songs are all downloadable and I'm putting everthing ranging from 160-175 BPM onto my phone to take with me. Hope some of you find this helpful also. Maybe even throw Steve a donation if you feel like it.

So bummed this is gone. As far as I can tell there was no warning to users on the playlist page (where users of the feature would actually see it). Post mortem I did find a page announcing its discontinuation (9 days notice). https://community.spotify.com/t5/Content-Questions/Retirement-of-our-Running-Feature/td-p/4383603

I knew I should have recorded the output. The running playlists that are still available just do not work for me and my run. I will deeply miss this and would pay money for this product especially in offline format. Does anyone know if Spotify licensed this from somewhere else? Perhaps licensing is the reason for the rapid discontinuation? Spotify, please bring this feature back.

I'll add to the numbers that have vehemently protested this move - I have no idea why you'd elminate one of the most unique and valuable features of Spotify. Please, please reconsider. None of the alternatives are anywhere near as good as what we've lost. This feature improved my 10k pace by 45 sec/mile. That's HUGE.
