I’m still a student!! Longer than 4 years.

i’m subscribed to premium as a student, but I’m still in school and it’s been longer than four years. I’m completing a masters program. I don’t know why you only get to enjoy the discount for four years. Can somebody please extend this option?! Masters programs are serious business!

The average length of higher education lasts about 4 years in most countries, which is why Premium Student only lasts up to 4 years. Spotify understands that some students stay longer at a college/university, but unfortunately, no special exceptions can be made in such case.

You can alternatively check out other reduced-price plans like Premium Family or Duo.

what about taking another degree, like i am using my student id from when i was getting on my bachelor's degree, and now i am continuing my master degree, but i can't extend my student id using my master degree student id

Hey, @NeroCG,

The student discount can only be applied up to 4 years regardless of your degree, so if you've already used up your benefits, then you won't be able to extend it any further, I'm afraid.

Hi! I totally get where you’re coming from — grad programs can definitely take longer than four years and it feels unfair to lose the student discount when you’re still enrolled.
The way Spotify’s student plan is set up right now, the discount is capped at a certain number of years (often four) in their verification system, even if your actual academic program goes on longer. That limit isn’t based on how long you’re in school, it’s just how the eligibility period has been configured in their system.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a way for users to extend that on their own. The only real route is to contact Spotify Support and explain that you’re still actively enrolled in a master’s program beyond four years. Sometimes support can manually review and make exceptions or at least clarify exactly why the limit is applying to your account.
It’s definitely worth reaching out if you haven’t already — especially with your enrollment documentation — because this isn’t something you can fix from the account side.

Thats the only reason why apple music is so much better price-wise. I’ve graduate since 2019 and it’s 2026 now… I’m still enjoying the benefits of $5.99 / mo because I still have my student email. Shame on you Spotify!!! And what’s worse is they’re charging us more AND making extra money off our user data!

Yeah honestly, I think I might switch to an alternate music streaming service too. It's been a frustrating experience trying to reinstate my student plan. Every button that I am supposed click to enroll just does nothing or redirects me to my account page. I'm a 4th year in college.

We understand how important this is for you. From what you mentioned, it seems that you successfully renewed one more year of discount for your account. If that was the case, you should have received an email with the confirmation that you have been verified as a Student, so make sure you check your inbox.

If perhaps you went back to pay the standard monthly price of Premium once a previous year discount expired, we'd suggest you cancel that subscription by following these steps. No worries, you're not gonna lose any Premium time you've paid for already.

Once your account is free, you can go here to subscribe to Premium for Student. If perhaps you received any errors while doing so, come back to us with a screenshot of what you're seeing, so we can take a closer look.

Note: Be aware this is a public space, so please don't share any personal info on the screenshot you'll send us.

Lastly, it's important to mention that we send you an email to let you know when your discount is about to end, so we encourage you to check your junk/spam folder or that you don't have our emails blocked.

Spotify öğrenci premium hakkı 4 yıl olarak belirlenmiş ancak diş okuyan insanların min 5 , tıp okuyan insanların min 6 sene öğrencilik hayatları var. Ki bu kişiler eğer ki hazırlık okurlarsa +1 sene daha geliyor. Yani bu süreden herkesin faydalanabilmesi için min 7 yıl olması her yıl da yenilerken öğrenci belgesi talep edilmesini istiyorum.
