It does look like that seems to be the case 😞 But no need to fret, since kids can't have a student plan Spotify offers a Family plan instead. Family plans are cost-effective, offer multiple accounts under one subscription, include parental controls, allow shared content, and are generally more convenient for managing subscriptions for the whole family. Let me know if you need assistance in the set up process!

I’m a highschool student and was excited about how there was a student discount for us! Turns out it’s ONLY for college/uni students. This isn’t fair at all

Homeschool Premium Membership

We use Spotify everyday with Homeschool. My boys love listening to audiobooks and Spotify has so many to offer! We’ve also been able to listen to so many different types of music. If we are learning about something that really interest my kiddos we can pull up podcasts on that topic. I think it could really benefit the homeschool

community if there was a discounted membership that allowed access to the audiobooks and podcasts! I see that Spotify has a membership for college students, but why not let that start at a younger age? Kids are so curious and I think Spotify could be used for more than just streaming music!

Many high school students already pay for Premium but aren’t eligible for Student plans despite having verified school emails. A secondary-school tier could make Spotify more accessible and could build long-term loyalty. or maybe change the rules of student premium so that highschool and secondary school students can access it too.

Hi! Right now Spotify’s student discount is only available for people enrolled in accredited college or university programs and who can verify that status through the third-party verification service (SheerID) that Spotify uses. You generally need to be at least 18 and enrolled at an eligible higher-education institution to qualify for the discounted student plan.
That means middle school and high school students aren’t typically eligible for the Spotify Premium Student discount at this time, because the offer is meant for post-secondary students whose schools are listed in the verification system.
If you’re in high school but also enrolled in an eligible college program, or if your school actually appears in the verification form, you could try the verification process to see if it goes through. Otherwise, plan options like Premium Individual, Premium Duo, or Premium Family might be a better fit until you’re in an eligible program.

We know it's only for college and uni students so we'd like that to change (it's kinda the point of this thread 😅)
