Student discount no longer available in Germany?

I'm trying to enroll for the student discount via UNiDAYS, but every time I click on the link to activate, the Spotify screen gives me this message: "Wie es aussieht, kannst du das reduzierte Produkt, das du kaufen möchtest, nicht erhalten. Du kannst dein Konto trotzdem gerne jederzeit auf Premium umstellen."

I know that Premium + Hulu for students is only available in the US, but is the Permium music only subscription still available for students in other countries?

I have had Premium for a few years. I tried doing this with my existing premium account and also cancelling my current subscription. Neither seem to be very effective.

Ahh no they're set to the US. However, I can't change it to Germany because I only have US payment options.

Do I need to wait until I have a German payment option then, before I can sign up for Spotify Student? I would rather continue using my US credit card.

That's correct. Your account’s country settings need to match the country of your university, and your payment method needs to have also been issued in this same country. For help with this, check out Spotify's guide to country settings. 🙂
