It takes hours to scroll down the albums list

My issue

When I want to listen to music, I usually choose an album from my library (I don't know in advance which one).

Since the last update, this has become really painful. It takes very very very very very long to scroll down the albums list, so long that I never go past the letter B when in alphabetical order (I have a lot of albums). And if I click on an album and go back, the page gets back to the beginning of the list, which is very upsetting.

The result is that most of my library is out of reach, I'm only listening to my albums starting by A (B when I have more patience) or the most recently added.

How could I browse my albums list more easily, go directly to the middle or the end of it for example?

As it is, my Spotify library is almost useless, I don't enjoy it anymore.

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

You can try running a clean reinstall of the app, following the steps here. This will assure that all app cache and data is cleared and may increase performance.

You can also use the filter option, to filter albums by artist name or other criteria which may shorten the list.

Thanks for your answer, but it hasn't changed anything to run a clean reinstall. The problem seems to be in the app itself. There is apparently no way to go easily to the middle or the end of the list.
It has become so difficult to navigate in the albums section that I have NO more pleasure using Spotify, I want to be able to scroll my albums list easily.

Thanks for your reply.

The app's performance may slow down if you have 1000+ items in your library. This includes albums, playlists, liked songs etc.

Another thing you can try is to log in with a different account and check if you experience similar loading times.

You can ask a friend or family member to log in with theirs of create a free account for test purposes.

Let us know if there's any difference in performance.
