Offline Albums Loading Forever

My Question or Issue

As the title states, when I'm offline and try to access any of my downloaded albums, I am met with a constant loading screen. It's worth noting that playlists work fine and load quickly and it's only trying to access albums where I run into this issue. In addition to that, going to an album from a song in a playlist loads much faster too. Additionally, more and more of the album art has been disappearing, only to be replaced with the grey CD icon (I'm not sure if this is a related issue, but it started happening at the same time, so I'm inclined to believe that it could be).

I've updated both my phone and Spotify to their most up to date versions, and have also done a complete re-install of Spotify as well. No luck.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

You mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a normal one?

If this doesn't do the trick, could you let us know if this happens across devices or only on your phone? Would you mind trying on a different device to check if the issue persists there?

Lastly, could you send us a screenshot of how you're seeing the album arts on your end? Also, make sure to send us the album's URI. To get it, just follow the steps here.

I've done a clean re-install, and it seems to have fixed the problem somewhat. The albums now load, but still take a while to do so and the album art takes a little longer than that. What's odd is that as I began to re-download my music, I was checking if it would work periodically and the load times were practically non-existent. I then left my phone for a couple hours to download the rest of my music (I have a lot so it takes a while) and once the downloads had finished, it now takes longer to load the albums.

Could this be a problem with the amount of songs I have downloaded? I still have a ton of space on my phone so it shouldn't be an issue , but I could be wrong.

Thanks for keeping us posted.

That's right - having a very large number of items can have an impact in the app's performance when navigating through them, such as the ones you're describing when loading the content and the albums artwork.

Hope this sheds some light on the matter. The Community is here for you in case there's anything else.
