New Home design - vertical single column list

Spotify seem to be experimenting with a new home view which is just a long list of albums or suggested playlists. No grouping and horizontal school now. Just one long single column vertical scroll.

It's terrible. What purpose does this have? It just makes browsing impossible. Any ideas what problem they're trying to solve?

Yeah, that new layout is trash. Nice "improvements" being made again I see.
