Can a public playlist hidden from my profile be seen in friend activity?

My Question or Issue

If I am listening to one of my public playlists that has not been added to my profile, will Friend Activity show the playlist and therefore allow other people to find it?

I'm trying to create a collaborative playlist with only one other person that I want to keep private to everyone else. From what I've read, it seems like all collaborative playlists must be public, so I was just wondering if keeping it unadded to my profile would also keep people from seeing it in my Friend Activity Feed.

Thank you for your post here in the Community.

When you play a playlist that's not public, your friends can just see the song you're playing and the album it's from but not the playlist you're listening it from. Same goes for the Collaborative playlist 🙂

Hi @WhitneyLeigh23,

Thanks for posting on the Community and welcome.

In this case, the name of a public playlist won't be displayed to your friends, unless you attach it to your profile (the info about the album related to the song you're listening will show instead).
