Unwanted songs on my playlist

I have to constantly remove the horrible songs Spotify adds to my playlist. What a pain. Horrible design defect. Spotify is aware of this but seems to have just blown off the previous complaints about this annoying fact.

Thanks for posting in the Community!

We'd like to clarify that the following is expected behavior on the free version of Spotify: If you have less than 15 songs in your playlist, the app will add more songs. You will see a message telling you that the extra songs were added by us, but they can be replaced by adding more songs at a later point, which will enable you to remove those you don't want to keep.

I have a Spotify Family Premium account. Spotify keeps adding songs I do not want, or do not like into my playlists. I have turned off Autoplay, and Smart Shuffle as it says to, in order to stop this. But the unwanted songs keep coming and playing.

Will this be rectified soon? Very annoying.

Hey folks,

Is it possible that you had leftover tracks in the queue from a previous listening session? If so, you can remove them via the Clear queue button. It's also worth checking if the playlists in question are collaborative as someone else might be adding the songs.

Something else you could check is if there are any apps linked to your Spotify account. I'd recommend unlinking them by logging in on your account page and selecting REMOVE ACCESS to ensure they aren't causing this.
