Hey maybe someone can help me out here (I've seen some other people having issues with that but the entrys were sadly pretty old)

So I got a lot of new songs through the weekly discovery back when i got spotify. they were, as intended always showing me new songs that are somewhat in the same genre as the other stuff i've been listening to. Sadly now for a view months my tinnitus has been getting worse and everytime i go to bed i have Lofi tracks playing non stop which obviously kinda fks up my weekly discovery songs. I dont mind listening to Lofi stuff but usually only when im in bed, and i really miss getting new song reccomendations with vocals etc.

the thing is, i let spotify play my playlist for an entire week (even when not listening to it) in the hopes of that, fixing the weekly songs. Sadly it was to no avail, i still got only Lofi tracks in it and i was wondering if there is a way to take specific genres out of the discovery? or maybe clear the history of some kind so it resets?

Hey there @Erimaki,

Welcome to the community!

There is no way to manually change the recommendations algorithm, but here is what you can do:

When going to bed or playing Lo-Fi, switch on Private Session. In this mode nothing you listen to will influence your recommendations algorithm, so in a week or two you'll start getting less and less Lo-Fi.

During the rest of the time, play music from the Search option, rather than playlists like Daily Mix, as they don't influence your recommendations that much.

After a bit, you'll start getting more songs of the music you've been searching for. Liking different songs and following new artists will also help shake up the pattern.

Hope this helps 🙂
