Compilation vs roles

Hi everyone.

Compilations with 4 or more artists show the artist name Various artists.
They show in the Appears On section of the artists’ profiles.

Do you mean main artists? What happens, for example, if my release has 1 main artist and 3 featuring artists? Will it be considered a compilation (and the artists will be considered Various artists) anyway?

If I'm not wrong you also say that a compilation can't be pitched to the playlist editors, so could you please advice on what to do in that situation?

Compilations are albums, containing songs from different artists, not individual releases.

Does anyone know why Spotify have recently classified lots of albums as compilations? I'm talking about single artist albums that used to be available as an album on Spotify that are now incorrectly catagorised as a compilation and therefore not showing up under Album tab?
