Delete podcast from listening history ( A BASIC FEATURE)

My Question or Issue

Like many who have already posted requests for the above im shocked and appalled that such a basic feature such as deleting a recently played poscast from your history is missing, especially from such a well established app. I have 18+ poscasts with inappropriate titles are being recommended to my kids on my homepage, its unacceptable that this is being allowed to happen. I will be deactivating my account until this is finally implemented and I am switching to rival company Deezer who I know has this feature.

Hello how are you! For explicit content to stop appearing, you click on the settings icon and then go to the third option that refers to the choice of listening and receiving explicit content and deactivating it. That way you won't receive or hear explicit content.

About deleting the Podcasts you already listened to is also easy. Go to your Podcasts library, then hold the Podcast icon and you will be directed to another page with two choices: Pin or Delete. Click on the delete option.

In my case there is a podcast that I don't even follow but keeps being in my home page in the first place, and Is about a topic that is not explicit content but I don't want to see it there because is about a topic I don't feel comfortable about. So in this case how I can delete it from my home page? thanks.

I also show podcast I don't even follow so I can't unfollow. Also noticed it's pinned with a blue dot. How do I delete??

That's not really "deleting" the podcast though, that's just removing it from you followed podcasts list. I have a podcast that still shows on my homepage under the "your shows" section that I would like to not be displayed because it is NSFW, and I listen to Spotify a lot at work. How can I remove that from being displayed on my homepage?

So Disappointing that this simple basic feature is not available.

1. Removing explicit content does not clear podcast history

2. Marking it "played" doesnt clear the history

3. Going to PC and using recently played playlist option doesn't work for podcasts

4. There is no delete option after the recent updates, so the screenshot shared in the solution does not apply any more.

Spotify team, plz do better.

Yeah same thing happened to me. Cant change this suggestions from top. Keep seeing the same thing which i accidentally played for a second.
please move the podcast suggestion from top Spotify

So, if someone's technical enough to write a small front end to this, here's the native spotify API call to delete a saved episode:

Lol, just tried to build it 🤣. The API only exposes "Saved Episodes", and you can only delete them, which means you can unsave them. There is no way to interact with User History and remove the podcasts you want to delete.

I accidentally listened to a NSFW podcast and now I am trying to delete that off my suggestions now it just stays there. I don’t want it on my suggestions page, please make a feature where you can get certain things off your page, please, the rest of the spotify community is asking for it.

I clicked FOLLOW causing the podcast to appear in my library. I then UNFOLLOWED in my library. No longer appears in my recently played. Problem solved.

I think this problem is relevant for a lot of people, don’t understand they aren’t doing anything for this! Looks like a simple feature to remove a proposes podcast from their automatic proposals that don’t interest me at all!! Even the ones I listened once… very disappointing…

I hope this works:

In the Spotify homepage, at the top part, there were options/keys for Music, Podcast & Shows, and Audiobooks.

Click Podcast & Shows. Then there will be a list.

Click the three dots under the podcast you want to remove and select "Not interested". That's all

It works for me, its no longer in my Spotify homepage.

Add to Queue

Go to Podcast

I tried listening to a podcast once, didn't like it, and now am stuck with new episodes appearing on my feeds/screens in Spotify. It's in with "my" shows even though I listened once, for a couple of minutes, and am not subscribed to the show. Meanwhile, podcasts I follow aren't listed in the "Your shows" section, so... that's a terrible user experience. In fact, when I go to New episodes, two episodes of this terrible, intrusive podcast are displayed, meaning I'm forever working around shows I don't follow to reach things I've subscribed to. SPOTIFY. What is this?
