Playing Local files from mac

Mac (Big Sur 11.7.8) /IPhone x

New to Spotify. Have 3400 songs in itunes that I would like to play via spotify. Turned on Import local files and I can see them all.

I can add them to a new playlist - just fine.

When I go to play a song or the playlist, I get a message that Spotify is unable to play the song right now. If you have the song on your computer you can import it.

My question is, how do I import it?

Thanks for posting in the Community.

When you see the local files on the Spotify desktop app, are they greyed out or not?

A clean reinstall of the app is a good place to start the troubleshooting. Here is how to do it.

No they are not grayed out at all. It looks like I should be able to play them but when I click on one I get the message "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it"

Hey @kmiller243,

Thanks for the update!

In that case the issue might be related to your audio settings. Could you check if the correct audio output device has been selected for your Mac? It's also worth checking if the sample rate of the device is set anywhere between 44.1 kHz and 192 kHz.
