The clean reinstall solved the issue for me! It must’ve been a damaged cache like you suspected. I was beginning to lose hope, thank you so much

For context, I am on an iPhone 12. I have artist playlists, with a lot of local files in each. The cover art has been fine for months. For some of these playlists, the local files in them are still fine, but for two of them, the local files within them have had their album cover changed to the cover of a different song. So, in each playlist, a lot of the songs now have the same cover art. I even checked and the files are tagged with their own cover art. Also, in the playlist, they have the correct cover art, but when I click on them it displays the incorrect cover art. I attached some examples, the 1st image is a song that had its cover art changed, and the 2nd image is the song with the correct cover art, with all of the other songs by this artist having their cover art changed to this one. I’ve noticed that it’s just songs with the artists “shine” and “hi-c” that have had their cover art changed (every other song is fine) which I suspect is the root of the problem but how can I fix this and what could’ve caused this if they had been perfectly fine before?

Hey @SW1TCHBLXDE,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

This type of issue is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your device that may affect the proper behavior of the app. In this case, we'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. This is often an overlooked step, but it's more thorough than a quick one and can be helpful in getting rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

Also, would you mind confirming if you tried to remove those files and add them again to see if it makes any difference?

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
