Why did my DJ suddenly change dramatically?

A couple of weeks ago I removed most of my playlists in favor of following all of the artists I like. When I did this, my DJ seems to choose what to play either using editor picks or using my age (typically sets from the 90s and 00s). Does the DJ not utilize my Followed artists in its algorithm?

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

Many factors influence the algorithm and the recommendations. It's not just playlists, but they do play an important role, as well as Liked Songs. The more content you have saved in Your Library, the better!

Maria, originally spotify dj was great. What has changed since it was released? I have been disappointed by the repetitiveness of it, and the terrible paid suggestions from modern artists I hate. My library has over 8,000 songs and a decade of experience. None of this is being reflected in the dj app. A year ago the dj was awesome and I was telling everybody about it.
