local files playlist not showing up

hi, i downloaded an mp3 song and turned on local files in the settings, but the local files playlist never showed up in my library. maybe there has been an update as to where the files show up but i cant seem to find them anywhere. does anyone know where i can find them? or how to get the playlist to my library? i tried turning the setting on and off again a few times but that didnt work

Hi @kcsl,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!

In order for the local files to show up in Your Library in the app, you need to move your songs to the Spotify folder found in the Files app > On My iPhone. Make sure you've also allowed Spotify to access Media & Apple Music, which can be done from your device's Settings > Privacy. More info here.

Local files won’t appear in my device, I have checked the slider and it turned green, however the group won’t appear, in settings I have enabled share to Spotify but the movies files group won’t appear and I can’t put any music on Spotify through files. When I followed other threads they did not work

I js copied the playlist to a new one and then added the local file songs to the new one and it worked fine, none of the other ways worked so thats what i did to fix it.

My Question or Issue

The "local files" playlist does not appear on my library, the setting is turned on however the playlist doesn't even show up.

I have tried to reinstall the app, log out and log back in, verified that spotify has the permission to access local files/music files, waited a few days and still no solution.

Can someone help?

My Question or Issue

I uploaded local files in WAV format but when I couldn't play them I converted them to .mp3, but the local files folder is only showing the WAV songs that are still unplayable and doesn't seem to have the mp3's. I've tried turning local files off and on, reinstalled Spotify, but nothings worked. Got any tips?

I have my local files on, and they are showing on my laptop but not on my device. I have the local files turned on and the folder the songs are in are on my iCloud. any thoughts as to why this is happening?

Make sure your files are in MP3 format. It's the only way Spotify will actually recognize them.
