My Question or Issue

Can you advise if there is a way to archive old playlists, I don't want to delete them. Just archive them.

Hey @susan3158, welcome to the Spotify Community! 🎵

Though there is no archive feature in the app as of now, you can achieve a similar result with folders. Please try these steps on the desktop app or the web player:

Open your library from the left side.
Create a folder using the plus icon.
Name the folder Archive. (or whatever you prefer)
Drag and drop all the playlists that you want to archive there.
Make those playlists private if you like.

Note: They will still show up in your recommendations but this behaviour will be reduced once Spotify learns from your listening behavior that you do not listen to those playlists anymore.

Bonus Tip: You can also drag and drop albums in folders which creates a playlist copying the album and you can create sub-folders as well.

You can only move them in ones. I have thousands of playlists. I would like to be able to create an archive of them in bulk.

An application (a script or whatever) that will:

1. Run through all my playlists

2. Copy all the tracks into a file

3. Probably take all these files and put them into one zip.

4. Remove all the playlists.

Even better would be each playlist file to contain artist and title as well as the Spotify Id.

A SQLite database could store this something like:

- trackId, artist, title, playlist, position

I'd then need a query to restore a playlist
